Nature scientist programs
Curious minds in the natural world.
Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre (NBEEC) teachers design all programs and learning sequences so that it aligns with either; the Australian Curriculum for Prep to Year 10; Senior assessment and tertiary entrance system (SATE); Vocational; and/or individual school curriculum needs.
Centre Teachers have explored all areas of the Australian Curriculum and are excited to align with General Capabilities and Cross Curriculum Priorities in a meaningful way – Nature Scientists. All of our Centre's programs are designed to provide hands-on and real life learning to maximise learning outcomes. We believe that students attend learning experiences to practice the embodiment of a Nature Scientist.
These experiences offered by our Centre are action based and use a variety of 'Learning Beyond the Classroom' teaching and learning strategies and resources. This hands-on approach investigating the environment supports Science, Geography and the Arts. Centre staff incorporate conservation practices throughout the day, such as waste minimisation strategies and model simple ways students can take action to reduce human impact on the environment.
None of the above can be achieved without creating meaningful relationships with students, the place (Nudgee Beach) and the visiting teachers. All curriculum needs are discussed with the visiting teachers prior to the program. This includes any individual student needs and health and safety considerations.
