Growing for butterflies
Year 2 students are called to action to help bring back the threatened Richmond Birdwing Butterfly to Brisbane. The focus of the 'Green Thumb Challenge' is to learn about the life stages of the Aristolochia praevenosa and how important this vine is to the survival of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly.
They will
explore the
different characteristics of life stages such as egg, caterpillar and butterfly and the needs of the butterfly at each stage. At the beach, they will continue their life cycle focus and discover that
living things grow, change and have offspring similar/dissimilar to themselves.
