Marine ecosystems

Year 9 students ecologists will explore symbiotic relationships between organisms such as predator/prey, parasites, competitors, pollinators and disease as they walk along the mangrove boardwalk located within the mangrove ecosystem.

At Nudgee Beach they will select and use appropriate equipment, including digital technologies, to collect and record data systematically and accurately to compare and analyse abiotic data in random quadrats in both a disturbed and undisturbed mangrove site, consider the effect of sedimentation when yabby pumping and examine the diversity and abundance of fish species during dragnet fishing.
