Extreme environments (v8.4)
Year 6 students will participate in a field study of two extreme environments at Nudgee Beach where they describe and predict the effect of environmental changes on individual living things.
They will complete a mangrove survey to collect, organise and interpret data at different sites and participate in an experiential immersion session searching for a variety of different organisms on the intertidal flats at Nudgee Beach.

Learning to lead (v9)
Year 6 students will participate in a variety of leadership activities, involving teamwork games and canoeing, giving each individual the opportunity to grow and develop their leadership skills. This program focuses on Health and Physical Education as well as Personal and Social Capability sections of the curriculum.
They will explore and develop their
social management skills in the areas of
communication, collaboration, leadership, decision making and conflict resolution as they are taught how to play Indigenous games and challenged by team building activities.
During the canoeing activities students will
predict and test the effectiveness of applying different skills and strategies in a range of movement situations and participate positively in groups and teams by contributing to group activities, encouraging others and negotiating roles and responsibilities.
